Much like Storm Claudia swept through the northwest the previous evening, the home side blew Manchester United away at the Etihad. It was a emphatic three-nil victory for Andrée Jeglertz’s side due to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a display that truly announced their championship potential as they consolidated their standing at the league summit.

The primary change came from Skinner at the half-time as Malard entered for Elisabeth Terland but by this time it was too late to shift the momentum of the game. Ex- Manchester City player Park came most likely to score, hitting the upright, but the visitors were lacking in ideas and were unable to register a solitary shot on target.

The home side, meanwhile, could have increased their advantage when a superb Miedema long ball sent Bunny Shaw away only for her to miss the chance but it was insignificant to the winning team. Having failed to overcome any team who finished above them in the prior term, the manager's side now have victories against Arsenal and United to place them in a favorable standing after nine matches.
